My own life has taught me that our deepest pains often become our greatest sources of strength. That belief anchors my work.

— Dr. Ji Choi

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and I bring extensive experience in working with a diverse wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship conflict, identity development, complex family dynamics, and self-esteem challenges. I hold a particular interest in supporting creative professionals, artists, college students, the LGBTQIA+ community, and those navigating immigration or life as a child of immigrants.

People come to therapy for many reasons, but at the core, most are looking to know themselves more deeply. I've learned that the relationship between therapist and client is the heart of this work. When someone sits with me and shares themselves, I feel the honor of being a witness to their growth.

I believe wholeheartedly in the possibility of growth and transformation at any stage of life. It's never too late to reconnect with your truest self.

Before becoming a clinician, I had an earlier career in creative and design work. This background has given me a natural, firsthand understanding of creative people and those who live with a rich inner world.

About Me

Before we begin working together, I offer a free 15 to 20 minute phone or zoom consultation. It gives us both a chance to talk through what brings you to therapy and see if I'm the right therapist for you.

WHERE THIS WORK COMES FROM

Training & Experience

I completed my doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the APA-accredited California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University, Los Angeles where I also received my Master’s in Clinical Psychology. I am grateful for the diverse clinical training experience I received on issues pertaining to the LGBTQIA+ population while at the Los Angeles LGBT Center. In addition, I received quality training in neuropsychological assessment, helping individuals with TBIs and neurodegenerative disorders at Southern California Healthy Aging and Rehabilitation Program (SHARP) at Southern California Neurology Consultants (SCNC). During my pre and post-doctoral experience, I completed three years of training at the Wright Institute of Los Angeles (WILA) where I received a certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. In addition to my private practice, I help other clinicians creatively build their professional websites which allows me to integrate my past career work experiences and passion for art and design into this field.
