Boundaries

If setting a boundary makes you feel guilty, selfish, or afraid of losing the relationship, you're not alone, and it's not really a communication problem. Most people already know boundaries are "important." What makes them hard and feel dangerous is the deeper fear underneath: fear of conflict, abandonment, guilt, or disappointing someone. It’s usually connected to something learned early on rooted in earlier relationships where boundaries weren't respected or safe to hold, where your needs were less important than someone else's comfort, or where love had to be earned through accommodation.

This work explores what boundaries mean to you on a deeper level, helping you understand the fear or guilt that arises when you try to set limits, so you can develop the internal permission, and not just the external skills, to protect your own needs.
