College
Students

Being away from home for the first time sounds exciting until it also feels like standing on ground that keeps shifting. College often marks the first real separation from family structure, and with it, a flood of new pressures: academic performance, social belonging, romantic relationships, and the early work of figuring out who you are outside your family's expectations. Old identities, old roles, old ways of coping don't always transfer, and a lot of students find themselves quietly struggling while everyone around them seems to have it figured out. Therapy during this stretch of life is a place to actually notice what's happening instead of just pushing through it.

We'll talk about the academic pressure but also the harder stuff underneath: who you're becoming outside your family's gaze, what friendships and romantic relationships are teaching you, and the anxiety of an unknown future. This is developmental work as much as it's therapeutic work, helping you build a more solid sense of self, one grounded in real reflection rather than just getting through, to carry into adulthood.

Before we begin working together, I offer a free 15 to 20 minute phone or zoom consultation. It gives us both a chance to talk through what brings you to therapy and see if I'm the right therapist for you.
