Sense
of Self

Some people come to therapy not because of one specific problem, but because they don't feel like they know themselves very well. Maybe you've spent years adapting to other people's needs, moods, or expectations, and somewhere along the way your own preferences, feelings, and instincts got quieter and quieter. This can show up in a lot of ways: low self-esteem and an inner critic that won't let up, difficulty setting boundaries without guilt, a mind that works differently than the systems around it were built for, or simply not having had the space to ask who you are apart from what was expected of you.

This work is about turning the volume back up on you. We'll explore what you actually feel, want, and value, separate from what you think you're supposed to, and where those old beliefs about your worth or your place came from in the first place. Whatever that process looks like for you, whether it's more separation from old expectations or staying connected with more clarity about why, the aim is a steadier sense of who you are, one that doesn't depend entirely on external validation to feel real.
